We have just had some news from our wedding planners in Denmark, Marry Abroad Simply, about Danish Town Halls temporarily closing until the end of March, and some into April. So unfortunately if you have planned to marry there in the next few weeks you will have to rearrange. As we approach the end of the year here in the UK, many Brits might be remembering their trips to sunnier climes, where they might have had their very own Shirley Valentine moment overseas. Statistics this year from travel search site Cheapflights.co.uk show some 17% of Brits stating they’ve had a holiday romance or flirtatious experience with a stranger on holiday, during at least one point in their lives. And interestingly, holiday passion is not just for the young, but for all ages, with 9% of those stating they have fallen in love on holiday aged between 56-65 , 15% aged 36-55 , 22% aged 23-35 and 27% aged 18-22. Bars and clubs were the most likely place in which holiday makers met their beau at 30%, however 25% met loved ones in hotels/hostels, 23% on the beach, 20% in restaurants, 10% as part of the same travel group, 10% on the flight, bus or train, 9% in a shop, 8% on a tour and 8% met while doing exercise or an active activity. ...

Here at Marry Abroad, we know that uploading those gorgeous initial wedding pics and personal updates from smart phones on the day at dream weddings overseas, is of vital importance to most bride, grooms and their friends and families. So it was no surprise to us to this week here that travel giant Cheapflights.co.uk announced Wi-Fi is the top priority for Brits when booking a hotel, with a massive 56% stating they looked for this amenity when choosing where to stay on holiday. In the recent survey of 943 Brits, Cheapflights.co.uk also found that 53% wanted breakfast included in the price, 41% wanted a swimming pool, 33% needed a good restaurant at the hotel and 32% required a good view from their room. Lesser important factors were as follows: 25% of Brits wanted flexible check-in/-out, 16% wanted a free shuttle bus, 14% required a lift, 13% looked for a spa and just 8% wanted Netflix or similar streaming options in the room.
