Canada, Sri Lanka and Italy top countries as Marryabroad.co.uk celebrates 5th birthday
-Press Release -
Canada, Sri Lanka and Italy were the most visited pages on destination wedding website MarryAbroad.co.uk in 2010, covering three continents and a very diverse selection of wedding ceremonies.
The site reaches the dizzy heights of five years old on 19th January and has seen the wedding abroad industry boom since it was launched. The popularity of these three countries show that a wedding abroad has become much more personal to the bride and groom, with less couples happy to choose a package off a shelf, but preferring to create a bespoke ceremony personal to them and their life experiences.
And, despite the recent world-wide economic woes, the destination wedding industry continues to grow. MarryAbroad.co.uk has seen the largest increase in visitors over the past two years (120% in 2010 alone), just as the recession started to bite. Cost may be a large factor in this, since a wedding abroad on average costs £6,000, compared to the UK average of £20,000.
Information is key when planning a wedding abroad, and the rise in visitors has concentrated on the site's information pages as well as specific countries', with the European legalities page being the most viewed.
Charlotte Hand from the site says “we pride ourselves on providing plenty of free wedding information, and are planning on expanding the information side of the site as much as possible in 2011. Every country is different and couples need to know which documents are required to exchange vows legally. We do always recommend that couples double check with their wedding planner after having decided where they wish to get married, but our site gives as much up to date information as possible to help them make that decision in the first place.”
Charlotte continues “as well as information, we aim to offer our visitors the widest range of destination wedding providers, so we are launching an anniversary offer to celebrate both our birthday, and the fantastic increase in visitors we've had recently.”
To celebrate its 5th anniversary the site is launching a special offer for advertisers who wish to showcase their wedding services to the UK market. Sign up before the end of January 2011 and MarryAbroad.co.uk will give new advertisers 5 free promotional services for free. Contact Charlotte for more details on join@marryabroad.co.uk
