New Wedding Venues for 2012 in Greece

Greece wedding specialist Ionian Weddings are launching a new range of wedding venues for 2012. Take a look below and if you find one you fancy, get in touch!

Melissani underground lake, Kefalonia
Revealed in the 1950s when the roof overhead collapsed, this beautiful subterranean lake sits enclosed by grotto walls that are up to 36 metres high and are the perfect clinging ground for the 20,000 year old stalactites and stalagmites. Be married in a boat floating on the neon-blue water, basking in the vast shaft of sunlight that floods this ultimate romantic location.

Achilleion Palace, Corfu
Located about ten kilometres south of Corfu, this architectural beauty was originally built in 1890 for the Empress of Austria. Pompeian in style and fronted by a statue of the mythical hero Achilles gazing northwards towards Corfu Town, Achilleion Palace was also the birth place of Prince Phillip.

Fanari Lighthouse, Kefalonia
A magnificent colonnaded pavilion located at the end of a small peninsular two kilometres from Argostoli. Tie the knot overlooking the sparkling waters and hold the reception close to a watermill by the sea.

Overlooking Skaros Rock, Santorini
Tie the knot on one of the most picturesque private terraces on Santorini with unforgettable views of the caldera and the island’s most famous landmark, Skaros Rock, a former fortified settlement.

Other popular and unique options include:
Boutique chic wedding in Santorini
Five-star boutique hotel, La Maltese, sleeps up to 24 guests, and comes complete with a deluxe spa. For around £14,000, this covers three days' private hire of the entire hotel, free use of the spa, personal wedding planner, wedding ceremony, reception for 20 guests, with sumptuous buffet and wine, wedding cake, photographer, flowers, champagne, DJ in the evening, full documentation service, and more.

The only private beach in Greece
For something really unique, why not hire your own private beach – the only one in Greece that can be hired in its entirety.  Accessed  by a small wooden bridge from the main island of Zante, this beautiful and secluded venue has wonderful views out to sea.  Ionian Weddings can arrange private hire of the beach for the wedding ceremony plus a waterside reception with champagne and wine for 25 guests, fireworks, entertainment, flowers, photographer and completion of legal paperwork from £6,000.
